July 28 Memory TagStep 1: As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew/know me a little or a lot, anything you remember! Step 2: Re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory for you. It's actually pretty fun to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one for you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments! July 16 Random!I work at a custard shop. Last Saturday, I had some very funny things happen! The first thing that happened was with this little girl and her dad. I got the little girl a cone and her dad got her all settled before paying me. When he came over to the counter, he said to me, "I just have to tell you something. My little girl just said 'I love her.' I asked her who she was talking about and she said 'The girl who gave me the ice cream!'" It made me so happy to hear that! A while later, an older couple came in with two boys who looked about my age. They were all kind of joking around with me and having a great time. The older woman paid, and while I was helping her, I heard the man saying, "Well why don't you get her number?" I was a little taken aback and just ignored it. But then the woman said "Well we have to find out how old she is! (So turning to me, she said) How old are you?" I told her 19. She then handed me her receit and told me I had to put my name and number on it! I don't think well under pressure, so I just did it. A while later one of the boys started texting me and it turns out that we have a lot in common! Then the other boy started texting me and now they are some of my good friends! I went to lunch with them and had a blast! I love the randomness of life! July 01 Oops!A few weeks ago, my sister and her husband both happened to be out of town. It was up to my mother to make sure that all of their plants didn't die. One day, I went with my mother on this errand of hers. She neglected to mention that the water had to sit on certain plants for 15 minutes. We just had to sit there and wait. I couldn't take it, so I decided to play dress up! I found my sisters wedding dress and tried it on! It was really fun and my mom took pictures for me. It was also a really big ego-boost because I didn't think I'd be able to fit into it. My sister is about as big around as a pole, and before her wedding, I think she managed to get her weight down to like 17 pounds. I was so happy that I was able to get into the dress! Well, I knew I couldn't tell her about our little adventure, so I tried to put everything back the best I could. A few days later, my mom, sister, and grandmother all went to dinner. My sister wanted to look at some pictures on my mom's camera, and she saw the pictures! She then proceded to confront me at work, and I must say that she handled it very well! Sorry Lisa!!! But it was way fun! June 05 I DreamtThis morning (it was morning because it was after I got home from work at 7 am) I went to take a nap. This is my dream. The first part of my dream, I was actually cleaning the Snow Building, except it was a lot different. And there was a bed in the middle of a foyer because for some reason there was a cop that slept there sometimes. Well, we cleaned that extra good and were all proud of ourselves. The next thing I remember, I was in a combined Masterclass. But not just any combined Masterclass, it was like all the departments in the snow building were having the same masterclass. There were people singing and playing piano and all sorts of things. I was sitting in the back with Lisa, my mom, and my grandma. For some reason, my mom and Lisa both had piano's in front of them and were apparently the ones designated to give the singers their starting pitches. Well, the first people stood up (there were 4 of them) and they did an interpretive dance to a classical piece! Brother Tueller was grading them and he was laughing the whole time! It was very interesting. I don't remember much else, but it was a very weird dream. June 02 Smile!!!!I don't know what it is about the world today, but I have found that people don't really know how to act around me sometimes. I took a social dance class last semester and I always got the weirdest looks. It wasn't because I was dressed funny (well, at least I hope not) but it was because I was smiling and laughing. I would have guys ask me all the time why I was laughing or smiling. I idn't quite know how to answer because I didn't really think you needed a reason. I also recently started a job at a pretzel/custard place. While I was working one night, this group of people (specifically one guy in that group) asked if I knew any of them because I was just standing there smiling. I hadn't seen any of them before, I was just waiting for them to order. He said that I was the happiest person he had ever seen. I was kind of embarassed and told him that that's just how my face is! He said it was refreshing to meet someone who actually looks happy while they're at work. The more I think about it, the more sad it makes me that people are surprised to find someone that is happy when they aren't around their normal friends. I think we should all make more of an effort to smile and laugh and just be happy. I'm not saying that I'm perfect at it, because I'm far from it. Wouldn't it be such a better place here if we all looked out for each other and tried to just have fun with those that we are with, instead of wishing we were somewhere else? I think we need to just live in the moment and enjoy every minute of it. May 16 1st SonI have come to a conclusion this week. I have decided to name my first son Atreyu Falcore. You know, like from the Neverending Story? I like names that are unique, that no one else is going to have but me. I think this one's a winner! I always had a crush on Atreyu as a child, so I thought that if I named my son that, then he has to be good looking too, right? And Atreyu is a warrior! He is strong and saves the universe! I think it would be awesome. And Falcore, the dragon? Come on, who doesn't love that guy?! I figure, if I put those two names together, I'll get a beautiful boy with a lot of courage that loves animals. Just what I want. My brother says if I do that he'll be a nerd. My loving mother disagrees, she says that his mother will be a nerd for naming him that.
![]() April 26 HappinessRecently, my dear mother told me I had to read a book titled "The Power of Intention". I was a little skeptical at first, but since it was an order from my mother, I decided I needed to do it. There are many interesting concepts in this book. One of them is to visualize things from the end. Such as, if you're looking for a job, visualize yourself already having the job and then take the steps to get it. If you are in tune with Intention, it will indeed come to you. There are many phrases that the author tells you that everyone needs to repeat to themselves. On is to tell yourself "I am success, I am abundance". I tried this, and honestly, it didn't make me feel any different. I guess I still need to work on that one. But there is one phrase that I think really does help. Whenever I tell myself "I intend to be happy", I can't help but smile or feel that special something that makes me much more light-hearted. That one phrase really helped me out. It was very odd because those type of things usually don't do anything for me. But this one did. It's a very interesting thing about that book. It is written by a man who isn't LDS, but he has figured out that if you follow everything the church tells us, it will make your life so much better. He tells you to be kind, generous, show love, and above all, show your gratitude for all that the "Source" (aka Heavenly Father) has given you. It really strengthened my testimony because people outside of our faith have discovered that the way to eternal happiness is to follow the teaching of the Gospel. Love on another, trust in the Lord (or simply a higher power than yourself), and show gratitude whenever possible. April 13 WalksOne of my favorite things to do is to go on walks. I used to go to the park at night when everyone else was gone. (don't worry, I had my cell phone and keys in my hand ready to fend off any attack) I love the park at night. It's almost like I have it all to myself, like my own private sanctuary. Once winter came, it was a little difficult to enjoy those walks because if I walked too slow, my legs would freeze in place. But I'm looking forward to enjoying my walks once more. The other day my mom, sister, Oscar, and I all went on a walk in the park. I loved it! My mom was taking pictures which I'm sure she'll put on here. This one is my favorite of me. There is one picture I want to get of me, and this is pretty close to it. But I'll have to wait til next winter to get that picture. Until then, I'll just enjoy my walks.
April 05 Our Special AnimalsOur family has decided that all our pets are varying degrees of special. If you look at these pics, you can see why. I'm pretty sure we make them special. It must be contagious when dealing with our family.
This is our kitten (aka Gandorf Salrong Mitchell The Grey aka Spike). She likes to sit in the windows.
But this window can't really be reached easily! I think she jumped from the banister to the window. (If you can't see, she's sitting by the houses on the left)
Joni decided that Ocsar needed a new hair color. So she highlighted his hair pink. Oh my lands. March 24 HarveyIf you haven't seen the movie Harvey, you are missing out! I think tht's one of my most favorite shows on the entire planet. It makes me so happy when I watch it. Elwood P. Dowd is the perfect guy, in my opinion, because he is always so generous and gracious to everyone and he is never too shy to give out compliments. And there are so many things in the movie that you can use in your life. Elwood knows that in order to ave veryone friendly around you, you need to treat them with the utmost respect and also with as much kindness as you can. He is always thinking of other people (even if it is a 6'3 1/2" rabbit). I think we could all learn a lesson from Elwood P. Dowd. Speak with a gentle voice, give flowers whenever you can, and always offer your card. March 23 ChocolateI have to know everyone's opinion on this, because when I tell other people this, I get the weirdest looks. If there's one thing I'm not afraid of, it's death. I'm not looking forward to the dying process (I just really don't like the thought of pain, that's really it), but I really don't mind death. And this is why. When I die, it's going to be so much better than it is here! I mean, don't get me wrong, I love you all, but I don't exactly have the best luck when it comes to, well, anything. So when I die, there goes all my stress, all that stuff that I have to worry about now! Stuff like getting in car accidents, math class, end of the semster papers, remembering to do anything (I have the worst memory on the planet), and worrying about how I look. See, I think that in heaven, it's not going to matter what we look like because it won't matter anymore! This leads me to my second reason of why I'm not afraid of dying. It may seem like it's a little kid answer, but it's something that has a big impact on my life. In my opinion, when I die, I'm going to be able to eat as much chocolate as I want! I won't have to worry about burning off the fat or rotting out my teeth, I can just eat and eat and eat. I love chocolate. If I could, I would base my whole diet around chocolate. I have a real sweet tooth in case you couldn't tell. It may seem like an immature answer to one of life's so called "greatest questions", but am I afraid of dying? No. Because then, I'll always have my chocolate! March 13 I just like it...Well, I just decided to write something, so here I go. Today had a very nice surprise when I woke up, it was snowing! I love it when it snows. Not so much the snow that is already on the ground, but while it is falling it just makes everything so beautiful. Every time it snows I want to go take pictures, especially of people. I really want to get a picture of me while it is snowing. Me with my matching hat and scarf looking up into the heavenly sky. Someday I'll get a picture like that. But until then, I just want to enjoy it while I can. The falling snow makes me think of the old love songs by Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. You know, like "Just the Way You Look Tonight" and "When I Fall in Love". They are such peaceful songs and you can't help but smile when you hear them. They just make you happy and you think about that person who makes you feel the way the songs are describing. Or you picture them saying something dashing while wisking you off your feet. I guess I'm just a hopeless romantic. But I'm fine with that. February 17 Stopping by Woods on a Snowy EveningWhose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
~Robert Frost February 04 My favorite is the 2nd stanza... At the silence of twilight's contemplative hour,
I have mused in a sorrowful mood, On the wind-shaken weeds that embosom the bower, Where the home of my forefathers stood. All ruin'd and wild is their roofless abode, And lonely the dark raven's sheltering tree: And travell'd by few is the grass-cover'd road, Where the hunter of deer and the warrior trode To his hills that encircle the sea. Yet wandering I found on my ruinous walk, By the dial-stone aged and green, One rose of the wilderness left on its stalk, To mark where a garden had been. Like a brotherless hermit, the last of its race, All wild in the silence of nature, it drew, From each wandering sun-beam, a lonely embrace For the night-weed and thorn overshadow'd the place, Where the flower of my forefathers grew. Sweet bud of the wilderness! emblem of all That remains in this desolate heart! The fabric of bliss to its centre may fall, But patience shall never depart! Though the wilds of enchantment, all vernal and bright, In the days of delusion by fancy combined With the vanishing phantoms of love and delight, Abandon my soul, like a dream of the night, And leave but a desert behind. Be hush'd, my dark spirit! For wisdom condemns When the faint and the feeble deplore; Be strong as the rock of the ocean that stems A thousand wild waves on the shore! Through the perils of chance, and the scowl of disdain, May thy front be unalter'd, thy courage elate! Yea! even the name I have worshipp'd in vain Shall awake not the sigh of remembrance again: To bear is to conquer our fate. ~Campbell February 01 Just to please my mama
