April 26 HappinessRecently, my dear mother told me I had to read a book titled "The Power of Intention". I was a little skeptical at first, but since it was an order from my mother, I decided I needed to do it. There are many interesting concepts in this book. One of them is to visualize things from the end. Such as, if you're looking for a job, visualize yourself already having the job and then take the steps to get it. If you are in tune with Intention, it will indeed come to you. There are many phrases that the author tells you that everyone needs to repeat to themselves. On is to tell yourself "I am success, I am abundance". I tried this, and honestly, it didn't make me feel any different. I guess I still need to work on that one. But there is one phrase that I think really does help. Whenever I tell myself "I intend to be happy", I can't help but smile or feel that special something that makes me much more light-hearted. That one phrase really helped me out. It was very odd because those type of things usually don't do anything for me. But this one did. It's a very interesting thing about that book. It is written by a man who isn't LDS, but he has figured out that if you follow everything the church tells us, it will make your life so much better. He tells you to be kind, generous, show love, and above all, show your gratitude for all that the "Source" (aka Heavenly Father) has given you. It really strengthened my testimony because people outside of our faith have discovered that the way to eternal happiness is to follow the teaching of the Gospel. Love on another, trust in the Lord (or simply a higher power than yourself), and show gratitude whenever possible. April 13 WalksOne of my favorite things to do is to go on walks. I used to go to the park at night when everyone else was gone. (don't worry, I had my cell phone and keys in my hand ready to fend off any attack) I love the park at night. It's almost like I have it all to myself, like my own private sanctuary. Once winter came, it was a little difficult to enjoy those walks because if I walked too slow, my legs would freeze in place. But I'm looking forward to enjoying my walks once more. The other day my mom, sister, Oscar, and I all went on a walk in the park. I loved it! My mom was taking pictures which I'm sure she'll put on here. This one is my favorite of me. There is one picture I want to get of me, and this is pretty close to it. But I'll have to wait til next winter to get that picture. Until then, I'll just enjoy my walks.
April 05 Our Special AnimalsOur family has decided that all our pets are varying degrees of special. If you look at these pics, you can see why. I'm pretty sure we make them special. It must be contagious when dealing with our family.
This is our kitten (aka Gandorf Salrong Mitchell The Grey aka Spike). She likes to sit in the windows.
But this window can't really be reached easily! I think she jumped from the banister to the window. (If you can't see, she's sitting by the houses on the left)
Joni decided that Ocsar needed a new hair color. So she highlighted his hair pink. Oh my lands. |
